State troopers responded to a report of an assault after a road rage incident on Quincy Shore Drive at Bay State Road on Saturday, Jan. 7, around 4:45 p.m. according to Massachusetts State Police. First responders discovered a a Chevrolet Equinox and its driver, a 22-year-old woman with stab wounds to her head and arm.
Responders, which also included Quincy Police, Quincy firefighters, and Brewster Ambulance personnel, also found a pair of scissors that are believed to be the weapon used in the incident.
The woman's assailants had driven away from the scene of the crime in a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, police determined. Police went to the Blake Street address of the Elantra's registered owner, 22-year-old Boston resident Mindy Alleyne, where they found both Alleyne and a 16-year-old Boston girl who had been a passenger in the vehicle.
Police determined that Alleyne had stabbed the victim with a pair of scissors and that the teenager had kicked the victim in the head. Both suspects were taken into custody.
Alleyne was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, (scissors); mayhem; and disorderly conduct, and is being held on a $5,040 cash bail. The 16-year-old was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, (shod foot); and disorderly conduct. She was released into her mother's custody.
A shod foot means that the person was wearing shoes, which is considered more dangerous than feet without shoes.
The victim was taken to Carney Hospital in Dorchester where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries and was later discharged.
